Laser Gum Treatment
Dr. Hsu is has been certified in laser dentistry by The Institute for Advanced Dental Technologies since 2002. She also took another certification class in 2011 with World Clinical Laser Institute.
Dental lasers are less invasive and cause less damage to the tooth and surrounding tissue, which means a faster healing process. Since the use of lasers at Long Island Dental Spa,Dr. Hsu has been able to complete more procedures, in less time, with more precision than traditional methods.
Dr. Hsu utilizes StylaMicrolaser. This particular laser is programmed to complete the following procedures:
Laser troughing, restoration, implant recovery, gingevectomy, aphthous ulcer, frenectomy, biopsies and sulcular decontamination.
Lasers can also be used to disinfect and preserve an infected tooth nerve tissue. Many times, this procedure helps avoid performing a root canal.
According to the ADA, the StylaMicrolaser has been described as “a precise tool for gingival contouring and periodontal treatment.”
